SuperDad

Dad is recovering well from his 3 1/2 hour surgery

but he’s in a lot of pain.

They removed 8 arthritic spurs, replaced two vertebrae, separated conjoined nerves, put vertebrae #4 back in alignment (it had slipped out completely) and joined two sets of vertebrae together with titanium rods.

gimme an O

gimme a U

gimme a C

gimme an H!

I wonder how in the world he did all the gardening, yard work, traveling, and lifting with all that wrong with him! The doctor said it was worse than he thought and that Dad will be in a lot of pain for a couple of weeks.

But wait…what’s that I see??????

It’s a bird???? It’s a plane???

NO…IT’S…

SUPERDAD!

IMG_5249 Yes, ladies and gentlemen, this is him taking his first 5 steps

with Ashley only TWO HOURS after surgery!

That’s MY DAD!

Truly amazing!

Thanks for your continued prayers.

A special thanks to my Uncle Dick (Dad’s brother) for staying with us all day!

Blessings Y’all!

Wonderful news!! How incredible that he is up and walking only two hours after surgery. What a trooper. :-)
We will keep him in our prayers for a speedy recovery and hopefully the pain will be less than expected.
You take care and get some rest yourself.

Hi Gal! He sure is a super Dad! I hope he's being careful not to overdo! I have done that before and have learned my lesson!

I know you're so glad the surgery is over and that he is ok! What a blessing!

Great photo of you and your uncle! You have a great smile!

I'll be praying for your Dad's recovery!

Have a joyful week!

Another job well done by super dad. It's great that he is up and moving that is what he needs to do, but make sure he follows instructions. I had a family member that felt so good she went horse back riding after back surgery and demolished all the good that had been done. She is in constant pain again. Take care of him.

GOD IS GOOD!!!!! I love the picture you showed on your post yesterday. The Great Physician brought your Dad through this difficult surgery and will be with him through, what I believe will be a very speedy recovery. We are continuing to pray for your Dad, as well as you and your Mom. God bless you all.

Tell Super Dad he needs a cape and mask so he can chase the nurses up and down the hall!..and a phonebooth do change in!!! He looks amazingly well...Make sure he knows to keep ahead of the pain, though...If you let it get a good hold of ya it takes longer to kick it to the curb!! Blessings to Super Dad!
