Traveling from Ashville, NC over the Blue Ridge Parkway opened our eyes to some breathtaking sights, making travel brochures come to life.
We saved the Biltmore Estate for another trip since I wanted to spend a whole day there.
We experienced many wondrous parts of God’s world during the month of October.
Next stop: Mt. Airy, NC otherwise known as MAYBERRY!
I looked everywhere for Andy, only finding Barney, the squad car, the Diner, and Andy’s barber.
Not Floyd but he had been a barber for 63 years and had cut Andy’s hair. His shop was COVERED in tourist photos.
MAST General Store, Valle Crucis, NC
modeled after the 1800’s general store concept
This will teach me to stay caught up with my blogging! Recalling a month’s worth of travel is not easy, even with my notes!
Blessings Y’all,
Kathy

North Carolina is one of the loveliest states ever...and the Blue Ridge Mts...fabulous!.. Did you run into Gomer Pyle at Mayberry??? Well, Gollllllllly, you should have!
I love Mayberry and still watch it on TV. I would like to see and hear more about your Landmark..
Hey D&D, We looked and looked and couldn't find him. He might have been visiting the Marine Corps... :)
K & A, I'll post more about the Landmark soon. It's still being "prepped" so we won't have it for a few more days.
Haven't heard of Mayberry in years and years. Thanks for the tour and the great pics of the Blue Ridge Mtns. too. We just bought a 2011 Heartland Big Country so I'd be very interested in hearing about your Landmark and why you chose that particular model.
